Top 5 reasons to book a maternity photoshoot

As a busy Staffordshire photographer, I find myself increasingly being booked to shoot pregnancy photography in my studio in Newcastle Under Lyme.  I love capturing pregnancy photography and always feel honoured to be able to document such a special and exciting moment in families lives. 

Pregnancy photoshoots take place around 26-36 weeks of your pregnancy and are often followed up with a new-born photoshoot a few weeks later.

When we’re pregnant we can feel a little self-conscious about our appearance.  This can mean that looking back there are often barely any photographs of us pregnant. 

Good pregnancy photography is very emotive as not only will it remind you of how you looked (at your radiant best!) but will transport you back to precisely how you felt at this important time in your life.

It’s really exciting for siblings.  You may think ‘I didn’t do it for my first so I can’t really do it for my second or third.’ But you can if you involve baby’s older brothers and sisters.  It’s a great way of making them feel invested and involved.  I’ve done some really creative and fun combined family portrait and pregnancy photoshoots.

You can use the images to make a big reveal.  If you love surprising your family and friends with good news then a pregnancy photography photo session can be a fun way to reveal your baby’s gender or even announce twins!   We can use fun props or keep things simple and natural.
